SARTON PANAMA SA. - As a retail company committed to the mission of offering a wide range of well-designed home furnishings at low prices for the many people, we are continuously improving the accessibility of our digital experiences, systems, and services for our diverse customer base, including those with disabilities. We work continuously to improve digital accessibility, and we are doing so by implementing global standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). As a company, SARTON PANAMA SA is committed to a human-centered approach in the use of technology for the benefit of the many.
Conformance status
WCAG provides guidance on how to make web pages easier to use for people with disabilities. There are three levels of conformance, and SARTON PANAMA SA. (doing business as IKEA Panama) aims to achieve WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
We have taken significant steps to make our digital experiences more inclusive. Our efforts include, for example, improving our alternative texts, the experience when navigating with a keyboard or when using a screen reader. We have also improved things such as headings with better hierarchical structures on pages.
IKEA.PA
ikea.pa has partial conformance with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard. “Partial conformance” means that certain parts of the content still do not adhere to the accessibility standard.
Non-accessible content
Thanks to accessibility assessments, we know there are parts of ikea.pa that are not fully accessible. These include:
- Some decorative images are not implemented in a way that assistive technologies can ignore them.
- Alternative texts for product images are being improved.
- Some video content does not have descriptions available.
- Some heading texts do not form a hierarchical structure on the page.
- Some functionality or content may be affected when text is enlarged.
- Some functionalities or content can be improved for a more intuitive understanding when using screen reader assistive technologies.
